I do realise that I have been sending out some unpleasant
documentaries lately. They are sent to me, and although I
know they will not be popular, I feel irresponsible if I do not
pass at least some of them on.
You see from what I am gathering, the way we are going,
us humans really are well on the way to extinction. According
to some experts, it has happened at least five times before –
sometimes through nature, and sometimes other ways.
And I would like to point out here that I do not see this as a
problem – as, not only the way we are with each other we do
not deserve to go on inhabiting this beautiful planet, but I do
not see death as a problem, because I do not see it as the end –
just involving unpleasant unpleasantness. And everything is perfect.
Now when I say the way we are treating each other I do not
just mean the mean politicians, and bankers, industrialists, and war
mongers, I mean each other – you and I. How caring are we for each other,
in each moment, and what are we doing about it. And I mean not only
actions and words, I mean, mean thoughts as well.
Here is a suggestion. I know that for most people life is not easy.
(And, it is probable that we chose this life so we can evolve.)
And as an experiment, let’s see if we can change somethings.
For a start, let¹s see how much more we can do for other people.
Have you noticed – people who devote their lives to helping others
who are having a hard time – they seem more fulfilled than those
who are just taking care of themselves? So by being there for other
people, incidentally, they are actually gaining for themselves. Lovely.
So, just for today, for a start, let’s look outside of our self and see how
much we can be there for other people. Just a smile is all some people
need in some situations. Easy.
Here is a link just sent to me, by Alan Steinfeld – someone who is having
fun seeing what her can do about the state of the planet – and that
means, you and me.
